It’s one of the most asked questions when it comes to transporting data, especially through the internet. It’s not really that expensive to construct a LAN, but connecting to another LAN, in a safe and private manner is time consuming and expensive. So, how can a individual, business, or corporation, create these connections to another LAN without leasing (public) internet lines?

Bridges are built to connect LAN’s to each other. It is like using a “leased” line, but with much more security and is certainly more dependable and reliable. Now, if two businesses need to connect over a large distance, the cost could be too great to generate this length of secured line.

But let’s discuss the value of using a VPN with-in a smaller geographical network connection. This VPN is a secure, dependable, fast, and able to expand as your business grows. Each remote office or location is able to send or receive data back and forth and know that it’s a safe path. The name for the growth is ”Scalability”. If a VPN is properly configured, some of the technology and terms recognized would be: Encryption, Firewall, AAA Server, and IP Sec. Let’s talk about each one for a brief moment.

“Encryption”is where all of the data sent from one computer to another or vice versa, is encoded into a manner that is only readable by the other computer.

“Firewall” is your safeguard barrier or a wall between your private network and the Internet. They can be configured to restrict ports, what types of data are allowed to pass through the Firewall.

“AAA Server”stands for Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting. Basically, the AAA Server checks who you are, what you’re  allowed to do, and what you actually can do. This is perfect for auditing the use of the PC on the network and provides a greater secure entry into the VPN.

The IP Sec is the Internet Protocol Security gives an enhanced level of security to provide a better encrypted algorithm and more detailed authentication.

VPN’s are a smart, safe, and more secure way of connecting people, PC’s, and businesses together.

Types of VPN Services

VPN, or virtual private network services act as a secure connection over an insecure connection called the internet. VPN is a secure layer of software which has the capability of absorbing some insecure contents. VPN services are of two types:

The remote access VPN and site to site VPN. Both of these services can be used in banking services in order to provide secure and safe transaction facilities to their customers. It’s site to site VPN gives you a secure connection between two or more locations across the open internet. By using site to site VPNs services banks can be more secure and safe. Transferring amounts can cost a lot to banks by site to site but, the virtual private network services can reduce this amount. Now, one can use cheaper means for example, domestic network or broadband which is the hiring expensive plan or sites for transferring your money with security.

The next type is remote access VPN service. It is also known as dial up or VPDN and used by the bankers and staff members of banks who are located at remote places. They can get in touch with the bank and can perform their transactions with the same level of satisfaction and safety. By using a VPN service you can connect to an office network via any means such as dial up connection or any ISDN lines from anywhere in the world and no one can track your activities. These are highly secured and reliable services and most banks are using them in order to make their process more authenticated and transparent.

In VPN services, especially in banking, advanced encryption and security techniques are being used to ensure security to a great extent. It facilitates work and permits the computers and other hardware to establish a secure and reliable connection over an insecure connection. The internet is very insecure and banks cannot afford to lose private information due to any fault in their system because of insecure internet connection. Virtual private network, VPN, will overcome this limitation and provide more secure and stable connection at low prices.

Computers are an indispensable part of human life. The internet is the life support of a human being. Without the internet, computers are only boxes with limited functionality. Surfing the internet is not an easy task. Along with abundant information, there is insecurity in the form of virus on the internet. While surfing the internet, you may experience many problems; which are risky for your system as well as for your identity. One must have at least a low-cost virtual private network account in order to provide safety and security to your system. Below are some of the advantages of using VPN connections:

1. Security: The first and foremost reason for using VPN services is security while browsing on the Internet. If you have a VPN and a crown then the computer establishes a private network between you and the server. All the accessed information is reliable and secure.

2. Firewall connection: With the website being anonymous, VPN account holders can read any traps by any hackers. It will keep the information of the IP address in security and will not allow it to get noticed.

3. Privacy: The IP address of your system will not be recorded. There is no question of anyone getting caught on the internet. You can surf the internet privately without it being anybody’s knowledge.

4. Access to restricted areas: By using virtual private network services, you can access any blogged site and can enter into any restricted areas. All of these activities are secure and free from any damage.

5. Password security: Virtual private network connections are safe to use and there is no problem with password security. No one can steal your password even if you surf through Wi-Fi connection.

6. Misleading IP address: While surfing the internet, no one can see your exact IP address. No matter where you are, but your IP address will always show America as your destination. This advantage is known as a “misleading IP address”.

Thus, by using a virtual private network, there are several advantages that make your access to internet more secure, reliable, and safe.
